Amit Rao

Managing Partner

Amit is the founder and Managing Partner of STEER. Amit leads the private equity related advisory efforts at the firm and has worked on numerous due diligence and growth strategy engagements. Amit has worked with leading private equity firms ranging from lower middle market to middle market funds and has advised on various stages of the transaction cycle, from investment thesis validation, and market diligence to portfolio value creation initiatives.

Amit has also worked with several mid-market companies across healthcare, industrials and consumer industries helping them identify and pursue attractive growth avenues.

Amit’s background is in strategy consulting for mid-market companies. Prior to founding STEER, Amit was a Vice President and Partner at Ernst and Young’s former market diligence group (IGS) advising PE firms on acquisition due diligence. Previously, Amit was with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the Corporate and Operations Strategy Consulting Practice and A.T. Kearney where he focused on business improvement and post-merger integration strategies for Fortune 500 clients.

Amit holds an M.B.A from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from University of Bombay.

Shibani Sain

Partner

Shibani is a Partner at STEER. Shibani leads talent development initiatives, recruiting, and large-scale growth strategy engagements for portfolio companies. Shibani is a seasoned strategy consultant who has led engagements in areas of corporate strategy and transactions.

Shibani was an Associate Partner at Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte) where she spent 10 years focused on helping large and mid-size clients identify new growth platforms through acquisitions and partnerships.

Shibani has extensive expertise in the consumer products and life science industries.

Shibani holds a M.Sc. in Finance from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of Bombay.
